“Dear Mable, We’re going to be doing some renovations in our new home. How do we apologize to the neighbours about the noise?”

Dear Trina:

It's exciting to be homeowners, congratulations!  It would be best to introduce yourself to your neighbours and apologize in advance for the noise that you will be making during the renovations, and explain how long the noisy part will go on for. It would be mindful of you to ask if there is a time of day to be avoided due to a napping child or elderly person. Good luck with the renovations!
