Back to School

It’s been a few weeks now since the kids have gone back to school, with some attending for the first time. We all hope that by now they have settled in nicely, yet there may be those who are having some struggles being separated from their friends or perhaps missing a teacher from their last school year. Coming home after school in a bad mood could be for some of these reasons.

The best we can do to help them out is, as a family, keep an open line of communication.

Listen to them without any judgement. Give lots of hugs if you’re a family that hugs.

Don’t mock their feelings. Offer assistance with their school projects. Share meal-times.

Children require guidance and sympathy far more than instruction.
— Anne Sullivan (1866-1936) American educator.
